As representative of Mr. Zhang Guangning, Co-President of UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) and Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr. Li Ming, Director General of Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, led a delegation to attend 2009 UCLG Executive Bureau Meetings held in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 1st to 3rd.

    At the meeting, Mr. Li Ming briefed on Guangzhou’s preparation for 2009 UCLG World Council Meetings and Guangzhou International Sister Cities Conference to be held this November, and made an invitation to all Executive Bureau members. Ms. Elisabeth Gateau, UCLG Secretary General, fully recognized the achievements made by Guangzhou Government, and complimented Guangzhou’s leading role as a member of UCLG presidency.

    During the visit, the delegation also held unilateral and multilateral working discussions with UCLG World Secretariat, Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and UCLG-ASPAC. The three organizations together expressed their will of supporting Guangzhou hosting the UCLG World Council Meetings this November, and their wish that Guangzhou would host a most successful and productive world council event in UCLG history.
