From October 8th to 9th, as representative of Mr. Zhang Guangning, Co-President of UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) and Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr. Li Ming, Director General of Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, led a delegation to attend the 2009 UCLG Committee on Staturory Issues Meeting in Paris. The meeting reviewed the proposed amendments to the UCLG Constitution and Electoral Rules of Procedures. The amendments will be put forward to the Extraordinary General Assembly for consideration.

During the visit, Director General Li Ming held working discussions with Madame Elisabeth Gateau, Secretary General of UCLG, as well as UCLG World Secretariat. The three parts exchanged opinions on the preparation of 2009 Guangzhou UCLG World Council Meetings. The preparing work done so far by Guangzhou was fully recognized by UCLG World Secretariat.
